The Grizzly G0959 combo jointer/planer was released not that long ago. I was in the market for a planer with a helical cutting head and this seemed to fit the need plus would be a big upgrade over my current jointer. With not much to go on, I decided to take a chance and buy one. This video represents the unboxing and assembly process along with my first impressions.
Note, the Planer function failed after just a short time. Ultimately Grizzly fixed it under warranty and I documented the failure and repair process at • G0959 Follow Up
All in all I'd still recommend the G0959 as it fills a nice combo tool niche at a competitive price.
