Kiedy oglądałam film po raz pierwszy, ten utwór zrobił na mnie ogromne wrażenie. W moim coverze starałam się oddać jego "element szoku", jak i uchwycić wszystkie emocje Uty, by brzmiały jak wykrzyczane w surowej, agresywnej, pełnej bólu formie.

Backlight is a song that turns the deceptively positive and joyless atmosphere of the film by 180 degrees. We learn that Uta, previously thought of as the main protagonist, is actually the "antagonist." In this song, she externalizes her concealed feelings - anger, bitterness, grief, loneliness.

The first time I watched the film, this song impressed me immensely. In my cover I made an effort to convey its "shock element", as well as take all of Uta's emotions and make them sound as if they were shouted in a raw, aggressive, pain-filled manner.
