IT'S WINTER! In this video I share the painfully obvious ways to prep your BMW for winter weather and snow. Step one, buy dedicated snow tires for your BMW. This makes such a huge difference in safety when commuting in New England weather. In many countries in Europe, snow tires are mandatory. Imagine how many lives would be saved and how many fewer injuries and accidents there would be if the US made winter tires mandatory for the winter months. It just makes sense.

Next, replace your windshield wipers every 6 months. I like to replace mine before winter around October or November, and replace them again in the Spring right before the Summer heat around April. The tiny rubber strips that wipe your windscreen wear out fast and are sensitive to heat and UV damage. Keep your glass streak free and clear with fresh blades every 6 months.

Next, keep the windshield washer fluid reservoirs full. Some BMW's have the intensive headlight cleaning system with separate reservoir, along with the main tank for the windshield sprayers. My wife even keeps a gallon in the trunk of her car just in case she runs low and needs it to get home in winter weather. Some days you need to spray a ton of it on your commute to/from work just to safely see while at highway speeds.
