Megatron v.s. 9-year old cancer Survivor at Universal Studios Hollywood

Описание: AUGUST 2016 – Megatron’s interaction with 9 year old cancer survivor. We celebrated this year at Universal Studios Hollywood. This amazing interaction with Megatron was the highlight of our day. Who knew Megatron could be such a softie even if it was short lived.

BACKGROUND - On March 10th, 2010, one month after Riley’s 3rd birthday, Riley was diagnosed with a Wilm’s tumor a very rare form of Cancer, AKA “A kidney killer.” She had emergency surgery to remove a grapefruit size tumor that had completely obliterated her right kidney. Riley went through 20 weeks of chemotherapy. She never lost her spirit or her AMAZING smile.
On Friday August 20th, 2010 our family finally heard the news we had waited for months with bated breath to here…”Riley’s is in REMISSION.”

August 20th will forever be a special day for Riley because it’s her “Life Day”. You may be asking yourself what is a “Life Day”? A “Life Day” is when a cancer patient is told they are in remission and then eventually cancer free. It marks the day that they were given their life back after fighting Cancer.

We started the tradition of going to Disneyland when she reached her first full year of remission back in 2011. All of us family members wear T-shirts that say something along the lines of “My (Niece, Daughter, Sister or Granddaughter) kicked Cancer’s Booty. # of Years in Remission”. Over the years it continues to amaze all of us the profound effect these shirts have on all the visitors and employees of both Disneyland & Universal Studios. It is truly beyond words. Every couple minutes Riley gets a high-five, an enthusiastic CONGRATULATIONS or a hug. The human spirit can simply be amazing!!!

We have met so many extraordinary people throughout her journey to finally becoming cancer free. Thank you time infinity to the infinite power to all of those who did what they did to make all of Riley’s Life Day Celebrations that much more amazing.
