21 September: a group of 21 guinea pig males dumped in a forest

Описание: Well... after a phone call from a woman who, with some help, had captured 21 guinea pigs in a notorious dumping area, we went out to pick them up.

Unfortunately, guinea pigs were somewhat of an exception, she told us. Only this year, quite some rabbits and almost a hundred chickens had been released in the same area. Why would you do something like that? Things turned out well for the animals that were found. But most animals released into the wild are just doomed. Is it really that hard to take responsibility for your animals and, if you no longer want or can care for them, find a place where they can be taken in? We've never said no to a group of animals like this when owners no longer knew what to do with them. What is a person like that thinking? Are they so ashamed that they need help? Or are they simply not interested and are these animals "collateral damage"?

These boys didn't choose to be brought into this world, let alone to be discarded because they weren't the desired gender and ended up as surplus. And we're not even talking about production animals, but hobby animals. Animals we keep for our pleasure!

Fortunately, things turned out well for these boys. They now have more than enough good food, care, and love they deserve. In the coming weeks, we'll find out the best way for them to find the right owners. Since there are quite a few young animals among them, it might be possible to create some nice male duos that can live in a spacious enclosure with owners who will have enough patience and understanding to develop properly. Perhaps there are people looking for several males for a large outdoor enclosure, where they don't have to worry about anything but enjoying their lives. And for the animals with behavioural or health issues, it's important to recover well first. We're now busy cleaning up other people's "mess." We'll keep you updated...
