Madame Tussauds has announced performer Zendaya will be their next wax figure. The announcement comes on the heels of a controversial photo shoot with a fashion magazine where Zendaya was heavily photoshopped. The artist took to Twitter to express her dismay with the decision to alter her appearance. Zendaya wrote, “These are the things that make women self-conscious, that create the unrealistic ideals of beauty that we have.” Madame Tussauds takes pride in portraying celebrities accurately by showcasing the individual's natural beauty. The Madame Tussauds' studio team takes more than 250 measurements during the live sitting with the celebrity, so guests have the most realistic experience when meeting the figure for the first time.
