The Vice Mayors’ League of the Philippines (VMLP) will provide death benefits and pass a resolution of condolences and commendation for the late Dueñas, Iloilo Vice Mayor Aimee Paz Lamasan.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, National Vice Chairman and Lambunao, Iloilo Vice Mayor Arvin Losaria said the entire league deeply mourns the passing of Lamasan, who also served as a member of the VMLP Board of Directors.
Losaria emphasized that the organization constantly reminds its members to strictly follow rules of engagement and prioritize safety when in security-sensitive environments. He added that discipline in observing safety protocols, including the responsible handling of firearms, should always be practiced.
The league is currently holding meetings to arrange its official visit to pay respects to the late vice mayor.
Lamasan reportedly died due to an alleged case of accidental firing. Investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
