Join me as I spend six days solo hiking the iconic Overland Track, through Tasmanian World Heritage wilderness, Australia in Jan 2024.
I was lucky to snag a last minute permit in the heavily booked summer which gave me my first warm season experience hiking the trail.
Now having walked both summer and winter I can say they are equally beautiful. Apart from the obvious weather and length of day differences that are synonymous with summer and winter, the largest difference for me was the number of people I met on the way. Summer is full of new friends to meet from all around the world. Winter is much quieter with predominantly local Tasmanians.
