Tiffany, Pinnacle, and Next Generation - The Lost Fun Ships of Carnival Cruise Line - Episode 1

Описание: Welcome to Episode 1 of The Lost Fun Ships of Carnival Cruise Line Series! In this episode, we will focus on the history of these canceled endeavors. Though there are at least 4 canceled projects that stem directly from Carnival, and even more from their sister brands, we will be focusing on 3 of the most well known: Project Tiffany (1991), Project Pinnacle (2004), and Project Next Generation (2005).

Because these ships were never built, information regarding their existence and the details associated with them come almost entirely from their main designer and long time naval architect designer, Joseph Farcus. The majority of the research put into this video has been taken from his book, Design on the High Seas, multiple interviews he has given over the years, and various models, sketches, and computer animations showing the vessels.

Because of the severe lack of information out there, especially regarding Tiffany and Next Generation, some educated guesses had to be taken in order to form a general timeline. To be clear, this video is not the end all be all when it comes to this topic. I did my best over the course of several years to compile as much public information I could on these ships, and even tried on multiple occasions to try and contact Farcus himself. Unfortunately, I was not able to reach him. There may be a wealth of information out there that I was unable to find or is not publicly available. This video was partially made to help inspire others to dig themselves and it is my hope that even more information and details of these projects eventually come to light.

There were a few secondary sources that were also used to create the timeline, the most important of which is the book "Great Passenger Ships that Never Were". It especially had a lot of additional and helpful information not talked about by Farcus regarding the development of Pinnacle and Next Generation. Again, this video is not the final say regarding these projects, rather it is the culmination of everything I was able to find over several years of research. I hope this series is an inspiration for you to find further information and help add to this little known chapter in the cruise ship history book.
