New World First Bus was formed in 1998, and took over 88 routes in Hong Kong Island & Tunnel services from China Motor Bus at the same time~~
At the same time, NWFB was purchased 252 units of Dennis Trident III buses (190 with Walter Alexander ALX500 bodywork [Fleet No: 1001-1190]and 62 with Duple-Metsec DM5000 bodywork [Fleet No. 3001-3062]) to replace the oldest fleet from CMB, all these buses with Cummins M305E (M11) engine and Voith Diwa 863.3 transmission (Except 1001, 1131-1140 with ZF 5HP590 transmission), these buses were deliveried in 1998-1999~~
