Описание: Tarabu waterfalls also known as Pittalabora waterfalls is located near a remote village called 'Tarabu' on the Andhra-Orissa border. Well, if you are determined to sign up for this adventure, then get ready for some action packed bike ride(not accessible by normal four wheeler), slippery trek and zero network. This worthwhile adventure takes you to one of the finest waterfalls in Andhra Pradesh. Wait!!! if it is indeed one of the finest!? why isn't this popular? The most apt answer is 'Accessibility'. Nevertheless, these rocky roads and dangerous trek bring a sense of accomplishment to the whole ordeal. So if you are an adventure junkie/groups of friends with a similar thirst for adventure , I strongly recommend you to plan your trip before December.

Our ride began from Paderu at 8:30 AM. We were lucky to have a local friend accompanying us. The first checkpoint to reach is 'Kumada' (Please checkout our Baliguda waterfalls video for a detailed roadmap to 'Kumada'). The locals warned us about the road conditions but we still decided to check it out anyways. Tarabu is an hour drive from Kumada and the road conditions completely depend on climate. We were fortunate to narrowly escape with minor showers along the way but had it rained.., things would have turned pretty ugly for us. Two wheelers are the best mode of conveyance or you could probably try a 4 wheel drive(not sure) but a normal car is a big NO NO. Our speeds hardly exceeded 40Km/hr and we encountered a lot of small villages. The people were quite friendly and helpful in guiding us to the destination. As we ventured further into AP-Orissa border, most of them spoke Odia or a mix of local dialect with Telugu. Another key point to remember is to download offline maps and mark the villages for reference. 'Busputu' is the second checkpoint to remember. After a left turn from Busputu market, the road worsens even more. The struggle to ride the rocky terrain and control the bike gets to you as you inch closer to waterfalls. We were not even sure on how would we make it back in one piece. Somehow, we pressed on, got down the final hill and (with help of the locals guidance) reached the spot where an old shady board says 'Tarabu waterfalls' in telugu.

We were hungry, exhausted with a tricky trek lying ahead of us . Unlike other waterfalls, we had to trek downhill instead of the usual uphill to reach the viewpoint. The path is very narrow and it started raining too. Every step felt like a slippery slope until you arrive at small window view of waterfalls. At this point, all of us got pumped up from the awesome view and raging white noise of waterfalls. Adrenaline kicked in and we couldn't wait much longer even though we were slipping on the way down. At the viewpoint, we were literally awestruck with this majestic creation infront of us. A splendid aura surrounded by a mesmerizing view filled us with genuine happiness. This was our fifth attempt. A number of previous attempts made us skeptical but fifth time is the charm. We felt lucky to witness such a timely beauty. The area of view point is small, rocky and slippery from waterfall splashes(Note: Move around very carefully). We spent a solid 30 mins for the beauty to sink in and started our way back as the rain began to intensify.
