What is a deaerator?
We heavily rely on our heating systems for hot water and heating demands, which is why it’s important to maintain the efficiency and reliability of these systems. We believe that the most important component in your system is the water. If you allow the quality of the water in the system to drop then the efficiency of the system will also deteriorate.

Why remove air from your system?
Water has the ability to absorb gasses, quite often air, which contains oxygen. The dissolved oxygen in water promotes corrosion and rust which will add stress to your heating system, such as a reduced flow. This will force it to work harder and increase the strain on the system, resulting in higher running costs and frequent failures.

How do I remove air from my system water?
The solution to removing these liberated gasses is a deaerator. As the boiler begins to heat the system water, tiny microbubbles will start to accumulate on the walls of the heat exchanges. The deaerator is designed to remove the liberated microbubbles from the system flow.

A deaerator will generally be fitted on the flow pipe coming out of the boiler, this helps stop air or oxygen entering your system. The dirt separator will generally be fitted on the return pipework to protect the most expensive component, the boiler and any components after.
