Field Recording | ORTF + Omnis

Описание: This was a little test i put together with a pair of Rycote CA-08 microphones in an ORTF orientation and a pair of Clippy microphones as a spaced pair. This was filmed at the Everglades National Park at Shark Valley and at another little spot in a small town called Coral Gables. In this video we make field recordings with both of these setups and mix them together in post to produce a wider soundstage. One of the benefits in doing so is taking advantage of the lower frequency range and wider sound stage of the omnis and mixing it with the more direct detailed recording of the cardioid microphones in ORTF. I didn't much take advantage of the lower frequency range of the omnis though due to having to highpass the lower frequencies because of distant background traffic. What do you think? is it worth the extra work? This test is still ongoing as there are many ways to mix, edit, and play with these recordings so that they work with one another.
