This surface has really helped out in my studio practice. Cement board or name brand Hardiebacker is a great surface to wedge your clay or dry out your clay slop. Paired with a good putty knife this is a great system. But watch out, it can suck the moisture out of your clay quick. This can actually be used as a cool decorative surface but more on that later.
