India has eased parts of its strict 2020 FDI framework, opening a pathway for non‑controlling Chinese investments to re‑enter the country under the automatic route. The Union Cabinet’s amendment to Press Note 3 now allows entities with up to 10% beneficial ownership from countries sharing a land border with India—including China—to invest without prior government approval.
