There are 786 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Colombia and 12 deaths.
President Iván Duque has prohibited all non-resident foreigners from entering the country and has decreed a mandatory quarantine.
For most people, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in several weeks.
For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia and death.
