This trip was back in October 2025, we had a three day weekend and decided to take the van to Rainbow Beach & Hervey bay where we relaxed, fed dolphins & even went whale spotting on a tour!
We drove 1 hour from the sunshine coast where we have been living to a rest area called Gunalda rest area (Rest Stop + Camp) on the Friday evening where we then slept ready for an early start on the Saturday morning.
This was then another 1 hour drive to Rainbow Beach where we would spend the day relaxing and looking around the town.
As we are on a budget tour we decided to stealth camp in Tin Can Bay ready for the dolphin feeding the next morning in a random street on the Saturday night...stressful!
This was our first campervan trip away since doing partial renovations to our van and we still didn't have it fully finished but we needed a break!
