In Tepecik, Izmir, Kısmet Lokantası has been serving since 1985, famous especially for its soups. Master Doğan also makes bone-in beef foot soup (dana ayak paça çorbası) here.
The beef feet are slowly boiled in bone broth over a wood fire for 12 hours. Naturally, the feet become gelatinous and separate from the bone. During serving, the bones are removed, and upon request, a special seasoned broth can be added.
It’s truly a healing dish, and in terms of flavor, we really liked it.
