Feathering for Mackerel - Shore fishing beach casting for mackerel in the UK Sea Fishing

Описание: Two trips are documented in this video where on both occasions I used a string of three feathers to target early season mackerel. Later in the season, when more fish are about, I tend to use light spinning gear for these beautiful fish, but with the shoals a little more sporadic this time of year, it's more productive to use feathers. Both trips were successful, and I even managed to fluke a garfish on the first trip. The weather was calm and tranquil, with the gentle lapping of the sea making for a couple of very relaxing sessions. Fried in olive oil and butter with a drizzle of fresh lemon, these mackerel tasted delicious.
Here is my basic feathering set-up

Old shaving foam container for my 3 ounce torpedo weights
Sets of feathers wound onto rig winders (feathers from the tackle company Shakespeare. I usually use the three string white feathers on 1/0 hooks made with 40 pound line)
