SEQUENCER & NOTE QUANTIZER - COMPLEX-1 COMPLETE WALKTHROUGH - EPISODE 16
Complex-1 from Propellerhead Software is a Buchla-inspired synthesizer that offers the chance to manipulate and generate sound in a manner that has never been possible in Reason before. Through controlled voltage routing, filter and oscillator manipulation, and built-in sequencing, Complex-1 offers musicians a chance to create some of the most unique sounds possible.
If you are just getting into synthesis, the Complex-1 synthesizer is both intimidating and dense. Even if you are a seasoned pro, you may struggle with some of its abilities. This tutorial walks through every module of the Complex-1, explaining what each piece does, and why it should matter to you.
Have you been trying to figure out to make cool patches like all the factory Complex-1 patches, but aren't quite getting there? Maybe the Sequencer & Note Quantizer is what you are mixing. In this in-depth video, we cover all the necessary elements to create harmonic and non-harmonic sequences and how to use the gate, curve, offset, and range to make your patches even more interesting. Multiple examples are included with explanation of why and how each routing change affects the sound.
Many of the patches demonstrated in this series are included in the free OVERLY COMPLEX Reason ReFill available at ZombieFightsShark.com or go directly to it at: gum.co/OverlyComplex
