Tel Aviv has also intensified air strikes on southern Lebanon and Beirut, causing mass destruction and displacing nearly one million civilians. Over the decades, Israel has carried out multiple ground invasions of Lebanon, repeatedly vowing to eliminate Hezbollah — yet none has succeeded. However, with the US-Israel war on Iran grinding on and the government in Beirut pushing for the group’s disarmament, could Israel achieve what it has long sought?
