Welcome back to another video! Today, we'll explore the high above the Union Pacific West Colton Yard facility, in Southern California. Built by the former Southern Pacific Railroad in 1972, the yard was eyed to replace operations at Taylor Yard in nearby Los Angeles. With expansive land, the yard is over six miles long, and is one of the largest classification yards on the West Coast, after the UP Roseville Yard.
We'll explore over the various yard operations, locomotive facilities, departure yard, and the hump/classification yard. All information you need is sorted in the chapters below.
