Описание: In a major strategic breakthrough, India’s DRDO will integrate advanced features from China’s PL-15 air-to-air missile into its indigenous Astra Mark-2 programme. The PL-15E missile was recovered intact near Hoshiarpur, Punjab, during Operation Sindoor on May 9 after failing to hit its target and landing 100 km inside Indian territory. DRDO conducted a detailed technical analysis of the unexploded missile fired by a Pakistani jet, focusing on its radar and propulsion systems. The missile’s AESA radar and Mach 5+ propulsion tech will be adapted to enhance Astra-II’s range and performance. The PL-15E, a long-range, radar-guided missile with a 145 km range and advanced anti-jamming capabilities, notably lacks a self-destruct mechanism — a key insight for Indian developers. ..............................................................................................
