O-Train - Alstom Coradia LINT 41 making a stop at Carling Station

Описание: While in Ottawa, I took the opportunity to quickly catch a glimpse of the city's light rail system. Notice that while this is a light rail line, the type of trains that are used at normally used in Europe in "heavy rail" lines.

The Coradia LINT 41 is an Alstom-built DMU train that was delivered in June 2013 and began revenue service in 2015 in order to replace Bombardier's Talent BR643 which was serving the Trillium line from 2001 to 2015.

Currently, Ottawa is building a second line to this network; the Confederation line, which is will be an electric light metro line using Alstom's Citadis Spirit LRVs, set to be opening in 2018 with the vehicles having begun testing in 2016.

Lors de ma visite à Ottawa, j'ai profité de l'opportunité pour découvrir le réseau de SLR de la capitale. Le type de train utilisé sur la ligne Trillium est un type de train normalement utilisé sur des lignes de trains régionaux en Europe, sur des réseaux classifiés comme étant "lourds".

Le matériel roulant servant cette ligne consiste du Coradia LINT 41, fabriqué par Alstom. Ce train est une automotrice propulsée au diesel qui remplace les véhicules de Bombardier Talent BR643 ayant été retirés du réseau en 2015 dû à leur fin de vie utile.

Présentement, Ottawa est en train d'ajouter une nouvelle ligne à ce réseau; la Ligne de la Confédération, une ligne de métro léger qui utilisera est automotrices électriques Citadis Spirit, également fournies par Alstom.
