It's one of the intermediate hiking destination that starts in Brgy Dalupirip, Itogon, Benguet. It is near the borders to the province of Nueva Viscaya where the hike usually starts for Mt Ugo, and it is also near Mt Ulap, two of the most popular hiking destinations in Cordillera Region.

Mt Pigingan stands at 1,328.00 MASL though the GPS in my phone and my wrist watch recorded it at 1,330 MASL. The entire hiking trip recorded a distance of 17.5 KM back trail. Half of the trail is actually along the road that is under construction. The rough road may look easy but it is a continous ascent until we reached the junction with which we started trekking on well establish paths up to the summit. The marked summit does not look like the highest point in this ridge, I am guessing that it is supposed to be the provincial border instead.

The difficulty is minor to median though this may vary to inexperienced mountaineers. The distance of the hike though will surely test the endurance especially when walking under the sun. Luckily, Mt Pigingan has a lot of Natural Springs that is used as water as water source by locals. Mt Pigingan may not be a popular hiking destination as of today but it is gaining momentum as more and more young mountaineers are joining this passtime.
