On this Memorial Day, 2025, I explore the "Potters Field" section of Union Cemtery in Monaca, Pennsylvania. This section is primarily a place for the victims of the 1918-20 flu pandemic that was worldwide; Beaver County was ravaged by this plague! There are MANY entered here who were the victims of the flu in that year. More commonly known as the 'Spanish Flu", it claimed more than 50-100 MILLION lives! A third of the population of the world became infected making it the deadliest pandemic in history.
