ABOUT ADI, THE TAROT READER

I'm divinely blessed to be Cape Town, South Africa born. I grew up 50% in Ravensmead, Northern Suburbs Cape Town with my Cape Town family the Cupidos and 50% in Thorham, Tsitsikamma with the Nelson part of my family. The Cape Town Cupidos are my mother's side of the family. The Eastern Cape, Tsitsikamma, Garden Route family are the Nelsons, from my daddy's side.

Thornham, Tsitsikamma is located within the beautiful Garden Route, Eastern Cape, South Africa. I was also privileged to life in a small community named Clarkson, Kareedouw, Humandsdorp, Knysna and Johannesburg, Gauteng. I may be missing a few. I also have close ties in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa as well as Durban and Howick, KZN/Kwazulu Natal Province. At the time of this post, I am based in my beloved Cape Town. With Table Mountain towering Cape Town's one side, and the Atlantic meeting the Indian ocean all in one space, one can see how this truly is a unity of Gaia's beautiful natural family. Officially, Cape Agulhas is the place where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet. "Two Oceans" near Cape Town CBD aka Cape Point is commercially the location. But, in truth, Cape Agulhas, the Southernmost tip of Africa the continent, is where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet. That's just a bit of Cape Town, South Africa history as I have a very strong love for Cape Town. An area named Kalk Bay in Cape Town, South Africa is my favourite spot in the whole wide world. BACK TO TAROT!

Tarot origin is unknown. Nobody can say with certainty whether tarot originated in the East or in Europe. There are interesting stories though. One of which is that tarot is of Islamic origin in the East that later spread over to Europe. Different accounts give first dips of tarot to the Chinese, Hebrews, Greeks and pre-Columbian Indians even. Some tarot card history date back much further, attributing tarot to the ancient Egyptians in the time of the Pharoahs. Allegedly, Chinese Emperor Mu Tsung knew of them in 969.

Modern day tarot is based on the 1910 established and internationally accepted Rider Waite deck. Original Rider Waite consists of 22 Major Arcana tarot cards and 56 Minor Arcana tarot cards, as is still the case to this day.

Tarot is a universal language. Same as any language, you need to learn how it works and then you become fluent in it. And this takes practice. 15 Years plus tarot card reading and studying practice in my case and I love it! A great passion of mine is teaching tarot card reading and spreads to others.
