We're thrilled to welcome back Jeff Love for his second appearance in this series. Jeff excels at breaking down intricate incentive structures into clear, actionable insights for entrepreneurs and investors.
The recently passed legislation spans hundreds of pages. We'll focus on the big-ticket items that could have the greatest impact on entrepreneurs and investors — provisions that may be overlooked.
Jeff helps clients identify, evaluate, and implement sophisticated strategies that influence capital gains, ordinary income, and estate tax. With the passage of OBBBA, we've asked him to return to break down what these changes mean for you:
"I'm starting and/or investing in a new company, what do I need to know?"
"Please break down some investment implications of OBBBA? (without pitching me on an investment)"
We discuss some of the incentive changes and rules resulting from OBBBA, including qualified small business stock (QSBS), excess business loss (EBL) limits, and an important AMT change coming in 2026. The strategic importance of our energy infrastructure has led Congress to offer substantial incentives for investment. The rules are complex, but the opportunities are interesting.
