Lalleshvari was introduced to Maharashtra by Shri. Sanjay Nahar's Sarhad through many books and conferring the award in her name for many years.

Keeping the main Kashmiri song as it is, famous Marathi writer-poet Sanjay Sonawani translated it in Marathi keeping the original rhythm and ethos intact. The golden touch of the Konkani and Panjabi language has been given by Manisha Wadekar and Anuj Nahar. In a way, this song is connecting languages for the noble cause.

And the soul of the song beautifully reflects in the voice of famous singer Shameema Akhter, who though is a Kashmiri girl has become the voice of Marathi. Plaksha and Shlok Wadekar have given her equally enthusiastic company in singing.

काश्मीरची महान संत कवयित्री लल्लेश्वरींचे "हुक्कुस बुक्कुस" हे गीत गेली सातशे वर्ष काश्मीरचा आत्मा बनलेले आहे. काश्मिरी मुलं मोठी होतात ते हे गीत अंगाई म्हणून ऐकत, हेच गात आणि त्यातील जीवनाचा उदात्त अर्थ समजावुन घेत मोठी होतात पण या गीताची साथ जीवनभर सुटत नाही.

महाराष्ट्राला संत लल्लेश्वरीचा खरा परिचय करुन दिला संजय नहार यांच्या सरहदने. त्यांच्यावरची पुस्तके प्रकाशित करत आणि गेली कित्तेक वर्ष त्यांच्या नावाने पुरस्कार देत.

हे मुळ गीत तसेच्या तसे ठेवत ते मराठीत त्याच तालात अनुवादित केले प्रख्यात मराठी लेखक-कवी संजय सोनवणी यांनी. कोकणी आणि पंजाबी भाषेचा परिसस्पर्श दिला तो मनिषा वाडेकर आणि अनुज नहार यांनी. त्या अर्थाने हे गीत आता भाषा जोडण्याचेही उदात्त काम करीत आहे.

तर या गीताचा आत्मा व्यक्त झालाय काश्मीरची असुन मराठीचा आवाज बनलेल्या शमीमा अख्तर यांच्या आवाजात. तशीच धमाल साथ दिलीय प्लाक्षा आणि श्लोक वाडेकर या बालगायकांनी.

आणि बनलेय हे एक भन्नाट गीत. पावले थिरकायला लावत विचारही करायला लावणारे!
