There is a lot of things to consider when someone approaches you and how you will react in that moment and it’s definitely not always striking someone. You should always position yourself with your hands up and start speaking to create distractions. Keeping your hands open is a key thing. It doesn’t make you look aggressive like balling up your fist would. Palm strikes can cover so much more surface area on the face. You also won’t risk breaking your hand punching. Striking out of nowhere is the best . That is you in control of the situation finished gone.
