Holidaymakers and pupils flock to the Great Kei River in the Eastern Cape to catch the ferry to cross to the other side.
The ferry carries two vehicles at a time, as well as pedestrians, for a reasonable fee.
Commuters are thrilled as it provides both leisure and convenience. The offshore also helps alleviate heavy traffic on the N2 especially during holidays.
Pupils are sometimes spared from paying the fee as they often use the short route when returning back to school after holidays.
