What if football history played out completely differently? In this Football Manager 2024 simulation, I used a custom retro database starting in the 1986/87 season - but here's the twist: all major players from the last 40 years are coded in as regens, entering the game world at the right moment in history. I hit simulate and let the game take control of football from 1986 to 2024. The results? Unexpected legends, wild transfers and clubs rising (or falling) in ways you’ll never believe.

From Maradona to Messi, Zidane to Haaland - who becomes the GOAT? Who flops? And which club dominates Europe over four decades of alternate football history?
