How is the blue-receiving protein different from rhodopsin? Check All That Apply The gene for the blue-receiving protein is located on the X chromosome, and the rhodopsin gene is on an autosome. Rhodopsin associates with retinal, and the blue-receiving protein does not. The blue-receiving protein is expressed in cone cells, and rhodopsin is expressed in rod cells. The blue-receiving protein is sensitive only to blue light, and rhodopsin is sensitive to all visible light wavelengths. Mutations in the gene for the blue-receiving protein often have effects that are less severe than mutations in the gene for rhodopsin.
