In a major anti-corruption crackdown, Vigilance officials arrested Debabrata Mohanty, Deputy Director of Mines, Cuttack Circle, after he was allegedly caught red-handed accepting a bribe of ₹30,000. Subsequent raids at five locations, including his residence in Srivihar, Bhubaneswar, led to the seizure of over ₹4 crore in cash.

Vigilance sources claim this is the highest cash seizure in their raid history. Investigators are probing how Mohanty, who reportedly began his career with a salary of ₹8,000, accumulated assets worth crores.
