'Rooks in the East Wind', No 3 of 'Moving Images', is related to 'Fallen Trees', No 2 of the work, in that it too recalls the violent storms of 2018. Even rooks had a difficult time during it! It's an energetic piece, full of virtuosic repartée between the violin and piano. The piece is played by Elena Urioste, violin, and Tom Poster, piano, who gave the premiere in October 2021. The work was commissioned by Carol Nixon.
