The guest Speaker for this journal club is Prof Gary Osthoff who will be presenting on the Interconnection of nutrients and metabolites of African elephant milk. Prof Gary Osthoff was born in Germany and grew up in Parys, Free State, and studied at Northwest University (NWU) and at the University of the Free State. While working at CSIR for 10 years he conducted research on snake venom proteins. He did his postdoctoral studies in The USA and worked at NWU for 30 years. In his 30 years at NWU, his research niche was in food chemistry and biochemistry, specializing in dairy chemistry.
