Summer in the City is a 1968 collaboration with German Television in which the distinguished German writer, Uwe Johnson, introduces the various characters who he frequently encounters during his wanderings on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Uwe lived in the area for several years and spent his free time getting to know his neighborhood very well, observing its culture, community and politics.
