Here are some extra tips for setting grommets:
1. Always practice setting grommets on scrap material the first few times until you're satisfied with your results.
2. If the grommet slides around after setting it, that means you didn't fully set the grommet. Place it back into the anvil and use the setting tool again with your hammer. The grommet barrel must fully roll down onto the washer to lock into place.
3. The anvil needs be on a hard flat surface when setting your grommets.
4. If the grommet gets bent or oddly shaped during setting and isn't holding properly, this is likely due to it jumping off the anvil while you were striking it. You can attempt step 2, but if that doesn't work or if the grommet no longer seats on the anvil correctly, you may have to create a new hole nearby and set a new grommet.
