Here it is, the Semi-Finals for 4A (AAAA) and what a day it was. It was beautiful, not a cloud in the sky and a balmy mid 70s to low 80s. That sun was brutal though and caused out camera to overheat and powered off! We are recording in 4k and the camera works hard at that already, but with the sun beating down on it, things overheated. But we recovered during the break, cooled it off and reset the focus.

The audio was captured on a Zoom M3 stereo shotgun style mic, and has some excellent side lobe isolation, and we were at the top most point in the stadium, and it feels more like being in the audience. They're so excited! We are too, but we express it here, to make sure that you get the cleanest audio possible.

The audio is mixed for the best possible sound for each stadium, i take a sound print at the beginning and try to balance all performances that way. I still think that its worth listening to at least one run through on a nice set of headphones or nice speaker system, but I'm biased and love this music.

The video is capture in 4k, and the details are as sharp as possible to see all of the band members and their locations and positions, the props, and try to capture some of the beginning and ending activities in case that helps the PIT crews with logistics.

*To the band directors: You’ve led these students to this amazing point, I hope I can capture (in image and videos) how awesome they sound and how vibrant they are and please feel free to use this as a study aid if needed. I look forward to working with you next year again. I do this for you 😎

I didn’t have band growing up, and I saw how awesome my kids turned out by going through band, I am so excited to image the discipline and work that you all put into the sport, and I can’t wait to see what’s happening next year.
