In March of 2025, only six months after our daughter was born, we decided to buy a few cheap tickets to Japan. Many long flight hours later, we landed in Tokyo.
It seemed like just a fun idea to visit a unique country, get a new perspective, but it turned into an experience we really didn't expect. We traveled to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka (the big three) with my wife's family and tried to see as much as we possibly could. Japan really is a mysterious country, there always seemed like there was another thing to see down every alleyway, another new food to try on every street corner. The extent that you could walk and search and explore and never truly feel like you've reached the end was unexplainable.
The people, the food, the culture, the people's general respect and consideration for each other was eye opening.
