Public speaking
is amongst one of human beings’ greatest fears.
Is it the multiple number of eyes
looking at us with expectation?
Is it the assumption that we’re being judged?
Or,
might it just be a natural case of our nervous system
giving us the boost we need
to get the job done?
It may be a combination of all three.
Yet,
it‘s the latter question that we can focus on
to build skills in combating the agitation
associated with speaking to a crowd.
Use it as energy to drive the message.
Imagine being able to zip up the nerves like a jacket
and when we reach the top,
we can bundle all of it in a positive way.
We can secure it with an imaginary button at our throat,
hone the excitement
and speak clearly,
slowly,
and effectively.
Fear is amongst us.
But, we have the power
to control it.
