I was looking for a solution to carry my kayak paddles instead of chucking them in the back of the car and discovered the Yakima Topwater fishing rod box.
The box has a simple clamping arrangement that would suit many different types of crossbars as well as different spans between the crossbars.
It is designed to hold assembled fishing rods with reels and has contoured foam blocks and bungees to hold the rods in place.
However, I am storing fully assembled kayak paddles without having to modify it in any way shape or form.
The paddle length I use in the video is 240cm and there is only a little spare room either end, so that is the max it can carry, fully assembled.

However, it can accomodate longer paddles by seperating them and storing below the racks and there is ample space to carry multiple paddles.
All in, I think this is a great option for anyone looking for a safe, secrure and simple way to store and carry your kayak paddles.
