Kent, WA - April 11, 2025—Kinara Park Kids, inspired by the principle of kuumba, which means “creativity “in Swahili, is overjoyed to share the fantastic work of student-led advisory and artist, Desmond Hansen, in partnership with Mill Creek Middle School in Kent, Washington. Following a lesson on Kuumba, where students learned about leaving the world more beautiful than they found, they proposed a mural project to bring this concept to life within their school community. Students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade came to school during their spring break to contribute to the installation of their mural!
