This video shows (one of) our first Quail Hutch or Coturnix Quail coop designs that we built in 2020 when we first entered the #coturnixquail marketplace.

We started with a 2 level design with custom door latches using various scrap pieces of wood we had available. We designed the hutch based on the size of the poop or droppings trays we planned to use (old bread baking sheets we bought from the Amish at the local farmers market). It's always a good idea to start your design with the poop trays and build to suit that.

After a year or so, we needed more brooder space, so we integrated a temperature regulated boodee on the third or top level. We use 50w or 100w ceramic heating bulbs for the heating elements and have dual temperature switches wired in as "thermal switches" that we can set to the desired temperature.
