NIA Officials Present at Berhampore Court
NIA officials were also present at the Berhampore Court on Saturday. On the same day, NIA investigators reached the Berhampore Court as police produced nine accused, who are currently in police custody in connection with the Beldanga incident.
According to sources, the NIA officials may interrogate the accused while they remain in custody. The investigators also arrived at the court carrying the case diary related to the incident.
The investigation into the Beldanga violence was handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) by the Union Home Ministry on Friday. An eight-member NIA investigation team has been formed to probe the case.
On Saturday, NIA officials reached Beldanga Police Station and collected the case diary. The officials were also present at the court.
All eyes are now on the direction in which the investigation into the Beldanga incident proceeds.
