À 18h hier soir les pompiers du SIM ont répondu à un appel d'incendie dans ville St-Laurent. À la prise d'appels plusieurs 10-40 ont mentionné voir un édifice en feu plus spécialement avec des flammes au niveau du toit. À leur arrivée, les pompiers ont observé de la fumé apparente et ont déclenché un code 10-09. À ce stade tôt durant l'incident, d'énormes flammes pouvaient être apperçues depuis des kilomètres à la ronde par des automobilistes sur l'autoroute 40. L'intensité du brasier a augmenté rapidement causant un embrasement généralisé de l'immeuble de grande surface. L'édiffice de deux étages situé au 2150 rue Ward à St-Laurent à Montréal a été complètemen détruit lors de spectaculaire incendie. Aucune blessure n'a été rapportée et une excavatrice a ensuite rasé le terrain.

At 6h pm last night SIM firemen engaged in what was going to be a lengthy fire battle in the St-Laurent district. 911 dispatchers initially transmitted information from multiple callers, one of them reporting flames at the roof level. Upon arrival fire fighters observed smoke showing and declared a 10-09 code. Even at that early stage, flames could be seen from kilometers away by motorists on Highway 40. The fire grew quickly and became an intense inferno shooting flames up high in the evening sky. The large surface industrial two story structure located at 2150 Ward St in the St-Laurent area of Montreal, Canada was completely destroyed in this spectacular inferno. No injury were reported and an excavator was called in to help firemen put out the remaining of the fire in the debris.
