Milford Haven High School’s vision is for pupils to have that enjoyment and passion for reading and something that will last a lifetime. Its approach to reading is ensuring that pupils develop their reading skills as well as a love of reading, by using eight specific reading behaviours. These help learners become more confident to pick out the different skills themselves and become more independent over time. It is important to establish really positive open dialogues with the families, to help to inspire learners to actually enjoy a pleasure of reading.
