Описание: An "invasive species" is defined as a species that is Non-native (or alien) to the ecosystem and, Whose introduction is likely to cause economic or environmental harm. In India the Plant Invasive weed species are carrot grass (Parthenium), Lantana & water hyacinth (Eicchornia). Parthenium is a genus of North American shrubs within the daisy family. The wheat was brought from US under PL/480 plan was contaminated with the seeds of Parthenium. As India was running a drought for 4 years and was forced to buy these grain. Scourge of water bodies or ‘terror of Bengal’ is an aquatic plant ‘water hyacinth’ which is one of the most invasive weeds found growing wherever there is standing water. It drains oxygen from the water, which leads to death of fishes.
