We flew from Amsterdam to Singapore and stayed two nights in the Rucksack Inn at the Hongkong Street (very clean, friendly 2Bedroom about 100 S$/night), then we stayed one night at the Marina Bay Sands (awesome 2Bedroom 350€/night).
Then we flew to Krabi and visited the night market (dirty there but interesting), then we went to Koh Phi Phi by ferry. Phi Phi was a big disappointment: everything really touristic, rubbish everywhere, everything is dead under water, no corals, little fish (I would never go there again). We stayed there for one night. Next stopover was Koh Lanta, really really beautiful there, not a good beach to get into the water because its very shallow but nice bars and wonderful atmosphere. We stayed at the Pinky Bungalows for three nights (really nice bungalows, new and very clean, clean pool). Next step: Koh Tao! Most beautiful Island we’ve seen in Thailand. We did our PADI there on the harbourside with Crystal Dive (highly to recommend) and visited Koh Nangyuan (best time to go there 16:30, Island closes about 18:00 so you are totally alone there). Harbourside is good, but the most beautiful place was at Tanote Bay (other side of the island). Best diving and snorkelspot I’ve seen in Thailand. Best place to relax and enjoy life. After a week we visited Koh Phangan, went to the Fullmoonparty (wicked Party!). Koh Phangan is beautiful when you visit the upper east cost (we stayed at the Orchid resort in the south). Then we went to Koh Samui and stayed at the Prana Beach resort for 3 nights (really expensive about 350€/night, but also has cheaper rooms). Koh Samui isn’t beautiful anymore. Same as Phi Phi the tourists destroyed the Island (we barely left the hotel).
Last step was Bangkok. Awesome city, not as dirty as people describe it (except Kao San Rd). Visit the Lumphini Park while you are there to see the warans. TukTuks are okay. Fast but bad air ;) Better pay more for a trip with them otherwise they may take you to some stores and force you to buy shit ;)
