The full 5pm newscast from NBC affiliate KTVH in Helena, Montana.

I did not plan to record this entire newscast, but it seemed clear that KTVH was having some technical difficulties during the new format of the 5pm show. The station sat in black for almost four minutes before replaying Friday's 6pm newscast. That newscast was cut short, with the station dumping into a commercial break instead. After the break the station sat in black once again for about two minutes before dumping into the pre-recorded weather forecast and newscast for today. It's worth noting that KTVH did not switch to the 4:30pm and 5:30pm timeslots for their newscasts like the CBS MTN stations. KTVH's 6pm newscast played the statewide Scrippscast as normal.

Like this morning, the statewide newscasts this evening were pre-recorded. Something I did notice with the CBS MTN stations is that each pre-recorded newscast started off with one or two local stories (local to the market) and had pre-recorded weather forecasts. KTVH, KRTV and KPAX all used Chet Layman for forecasts, while KTVQ and KBZK used Ed McIntosh.

KTVQ's Russ Riesinger anchors this newscast and weather is from meteorologist Chet Layman.

Graphics, music and Al Conners as the voice artist all remain the same.
